Position Title: RD, Diabetes Educator - Endocrinology
Position Description: Using expertise in diabetes disease prevention/treatment, work collaboratively with physician, associate staff and RN, Diabetes Educator to provide comprehensive care to patients with diabetes in out-patient/in-patient settings; as expert in individualized medical nutrition therapy, perform related patient assessment, interventions and teaching; consult with other healthcare providers, arrange referrals and provide psychosocial support to patients/families

Experience: Necessary; Required: Registered Dietitian; 3-5 yrs. experience as dietitian or related healthcare field; Dietitian registered by Commission on Dietitian Registration; Basic Life Support cert.; cert. as Diabetes Educator within 2 yrs. of employment; effective communication skills; ability to provide one-on-one counseling as well as speak to groups of various sizes. Preferred: Cert. Diabetes Educator; experience in diabetes patient teaching; knowledge of diabetes related equip. applications/operation; ability to serve as a preceptor.
