WAND Webinar - Diabetes Prevention Program in Wisconsin

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Wisconsin Department of Health Services want WAND members to know about the National Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP), including what’s new about it and what’s happening here in Wisconsin.  The Diabetes Prevention Program is a high-level, evidence-based behavior-change course introduced by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) for people who have prediabetes or are at risk for developing type 2 diabetes.  Effective April 2018, Medicare will begin to reimburse DPPs that are CDC-recognized.

Presentation Objectives:

  1. Define the science, theory, and fidelity assurance behind the National Diabetes Prevention Program
  2. Identify opportunities for dietitians to become involved with the National Diabetes Prevention Program
  3. Learn how one health system in Wisconsin is scaling the National Diabetes Prevention Program using their clinical nutrition staff
