	Broadly, I am interested in the interpretation and management of body size (e.g., body weight, muscularity, fat mass). More specifically, my research interests involve: 1. Elucidating the influence of romantic partners on body image, eating and activity behavior, and approaches to weight management among members of the couple. 2. Exploring the impact of major life events (relationship transitions, extreme weight loss, cancer) on body image, dietary intake, physical activity, and weight management. examining historical trends in the portrayal and internalization of the "ideal body." 3. Elucidating the role of body dissatisfaction as a motivator and inhibitor of healthy behavior. examining how body weight monitoring affects mental health and weight management behavior; the efficacious use of weight monitoring in weight management interventions. 4. Designing, implementing, and evaluating theoretically-driven weight management interventions targeting critical periods in the life course. exploring the feasibility and efficacy of using Internet-based technology for health promotion research and weight management interventions.

	Lisa Kingery MS, RD is the Food and Nutrition Program Director for the Fondy Food Center in Milwaukee, WI. At Fondy, she oversees Milwaukee’s largest farmers market and develops programs that educate the public about local food, nutrition, and cooking. A primary goal of the organization is to stabilize Milwaukee’s inner city food system and improve the physical and economic well-being of its citizens. To meet this goal, Lisa develops programs to connect and support both low-income farmers and consumers. She also hosts “Taste the Season” a live, market-based and televised seasonal cooking show which features locally produced fruits and vegetables. Her interests and expertise lie in culinary nutrition education, local food systems, and urban agriculture. She earned her credential as a Registered Dietitian and her Masters degree in Nutrition and Public Health from Columbia University in New York City.
