WAND SE Event - AHA Tools to Help Build a Healthy Food Environment

Learn about some of the wellness resources available through the American Heart Association, as well as the background and data supporting the success of their Food & Beverage Toolkit. This is also a great opportunity to explore the brand new foods lab at Mount Mary, and learn about the importance of food demonstrations for educational purposes.

Educational Objectives: 

  1. Attendees will be able to utilize and share AHA tools around healthy food/nutrition.
  2. After viewing this presentation participants will be able to state 5 elements to include in planning a food demo.

Schedule of Events:

3:30pm – Registration
4:00pm – Tim Nikolai, American Heart Association Food and Beverage Toolkit and other resources
4:45pm-6:00pm – Linda Gleason, presentation of foods lab and demonstration of AHA recipe; using food demos for education purposes
