Call for Award Nominations

We are privileged to have many excellent nutrition professionals providing expert food and nutrition services to the residents of Wisconsin. Many of us work with individuals whose accomplishments shine and who motivate us to do more and giving us pride to be part of profession that has such vital importance to people. Many of these great contributors quietly go about their work with little public acclaim. Why not step forward and acknowledge a colleague's excellence with a nomination for one of the awards offered through your state association? Please consider nominating your colleague(s) for one of the following awards:
Outstanding Dietetics Educator Award - The purpose of this award is to recognize the teaching, mentoring and leadership activities of faculty and preceptors in ACEND-accredited dietetics education programs. The deadline to submit nominations for this award is December 31, 2015.
The deadline to submit nominations for the following awards is March 2, 2016:
Recognized Young Dietition of the Year (RYDY) - The purpose of this award is to recognize the competence and activities of younger dietitians and to encourage their participation in Association affairs. The person must 35 years or younger as of April 1, 2015 and be a member of the Academy and WAND. (Wisconsin is allowed to recognize 2 dietitians.)
Recognized Dietetic Technician of the Year (RDTY) - The purpose of this award is to recognize the professional contributions of dietetic technicians in the AND and to encourage continued participation in Association affairs. One recipient is chosen each year.
Emerging Dietetic Leader (EDL) - The purpose of this award is to recognize the competencies and activities of dietitians regardless of their age, who have made significant contributions early in their dietetic careers to the AND. Practice experience should not be less than 5 years and not greater than10 years.
Outstanding Dietetic Students (one each for DI, CP, DPD, DT) The purpose of this the Outstanding Dietetic Student Award is to recognize the emerging leadership and achievement of students in CADE-accredited dietetics education programs and encourage their participation in the AND. A student from each type of education program within a state will be selected by each state association (a maximum of 4 per state).
Outstanding Dietitian of the Year - The purpose of this award is to honor and recognize a Wisconsin Dietitian who has made outstanding and significant contributions to the dietetic profession and associations. It is the highest honor given to any practitioner by the WAND.
