Second Century and the Member Engagement Zone

“We have made the decision not to wait to act; the challenges facing us are systemic in nature, and we cannot solve them on our own.” These were the words of Lucille Beseler, MS, RDN, LDN, CDE, current Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics President in the opening pages of the November issue of JAND. (It is probably still on your kitchen counter, so take a look!)
The Academy is reaching out to many people in a variety of ways for advice regarding the formulation of a vision for the future. In September, for example, the Nutrition Impact Summit brought individuals together from a variety of “food, wellness and healthcare” sectors. In October, FNCE attendees had an opportunity to attend a Second Century Town Hall in Boston. In recent days, Academy members have received an email survey [email SUBJECT: WANTED: Your feedback on the future of the profession]. So far, the budding vision focuses on: diverse careers for food and nutrition professionals; dedication to collaboration; greater global presence and impact; and accelerating progress in solving the greatest food and nutrition challenges of the 21st century.
Please, find the email from the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, sent NOV. 10, 2016, and click TAKE SURVEY NOW to respond via the new Member Engagement Zone. The survey is short and sweet (1 question) and allows you the chance to send your thoughts directly to the team that is planning our Second Century.
Thank you in advance for participating, and maybe even for convincing a colleague to also find that email and participate!
