Wisconsin WIC Association (WWA) and Wisconsin Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (WAND) joined together to share the top reasons and key strategies to:

  • get comfortable talking with candidates and elected officials about our profession
  • educate candidates and elected officials on nutrition programs and policies
  • build our shared understanding and amplify our voices on issues like:
    • community and public-health nutrition improvement initiatives
    • funding streams and mechanisms for nutrition-related programs
    • barriers being felt in the profession and advancement in the field of dietetics
  • prepare for the 2025 legislative season

WE ARE ACCEPTING NEW SUBMISSIONS!

For this year’s Annual National Nutrition Month Video Contest:We invite you to show us your Homegrown Solution.What's your Strategy for Improving Nutrition in Wisconsin?

Submit your video of 2 minutes or less that shows us your Homegrown Solution and your Strategy for Improving Nutrition in Wisconsin.Show us your creativity and your innovative strategies that help individuals overcome the barriers of choosing a healthful diet. Need some inspiration? Visit WAND’s YouTube Channel to watch past year’s contestants video submissions.

 

WHAT DO I WIN?

Two winners will receive complimentary registration to the 2019 or 2020 WAND Annual Conference (a $250 value!).

 

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?

Students, interns, DTRs, RDs, RDNs! Create your video individually or as a team. At least one contestant must be an active member of the Wisconsin Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (WAND). If a team is selected as a winner, the group may choose to divide the value of the registration award ($250) between all members for either the 2019 or 2020 Annual Conference.

 

WHEN DO I NEED TO SUBMIT MY VIDEO?

Video submissions will be accepted startingMonday, November 12, 2018 through Friday, February 1, 2019.Winners will be announced on Friday, February 15, 2019.
